Hey there!
We are Primary Child Mural & Design Studio: a multi-disciplinary duo comprised of Ashley Palmer and Heidi Clifford, a.k.a. Primary Child. We are on a mission to cover the world in color - primarily we paint murals to beautify, improve, and engage public and community spaces through intentional design.
With our work, we balance play within the art making by having fun with what we do and loving ourselves along the way. It’s no easy task running your own business, but having been friends for over a decade, we are both motivated and talented artists excited to grow further by joining forces, and we recognize the daily privilege that it is to get to do this!
Individually, we do a lot of our own projects and are involved in many local organizations. Heidi is also an installation artist local to Columbus, Ohio, creating large-scale 3D tissue paper installations and acrylic painting. She has worked with Columbus Society of Communicating Arts (2024 Co-President), Franklinton Arts District, Wild Goose Creative, Franklinton Farms, 934 Gallery, and more. Ashley is local to Canton, Ohio, where we’re both from. She’s a true artistic entrepreneur, weaving her creativity into every aspect of her life. As a professional tarot reader and astrologer, she taps into the cosmos to offer profound insights and guidance. Beyond divination, her expertise in reiki and yoga/meditation empowers individuals to embrace healing and mindfulness. With a passion for art and design, Ashley's multi-faceted talents enrich her work as a professional artist and designer, bringing beauty and meaning to the world around her.
